Reflections on Water
This event was held in Cathedral Square on Sunday 13 June at 3pm.We invited the people of Canterbury to gather with us in Cathedral Square where a cairn of river stones was constructed as a mark of public concern.
Stones from the South Island’s great rivers were used to build a cairn on Sunday 13th June in the front of the Christchurch Cathedral as part of the continuing water protest. The Anglican Bishop, Victoria Matthew, blessed the cairn with Waimakariri river water; the cairn will remain in the Square until regional councilors are re-elected and democracy is restored.
