The public with an interest in water issues in Canterbury are welcome to attend some of these meetings
Regional Committee discussion items
The Regional Committee will meet at the Lincoln Event Centre for its eighth public meeting on Tuesday July 12 (3-9pm).
The key items for discussion follow on from the committee's previous meeting on June 21 and include:

Kaikoura zone committee launch
The Kaikoura Zone Committee will be launched at an event in Kaikoura on Friday July 15
.
The committee is made up of runanga representative Gina Solomon, six community appointees, Kaikoura Mayor Winston Gray and Environment Canterbury Commissioner David Bedford.
Committee members will spend the Saturday after the launch on a field trip around the Kaikoura zone being briefed on water management issues and getting to know one another.

Hurunui-Waiau progress
The Hurunui-Waiau Zone Committee is expected to finalise its Zone Implementation Programme at its meeting on July 18.

Selwyn-Waihora community meetings
The Selwyn-Waihora Zone Committee organised two community meetings (June 29 in Lincoln and June 30 in Darfield) to update people on their progress and receive feedback on the zone priorities and outcomes.
Around 30 people attended the meetings and provided good feedback via a series of facilitated groups. There was good agreement with the draft priority outcomes identified by the zone committee along with a number of suggestions for consideration.

Website changeover
The Canterbury Water website has been incorporated into the Environment Canterbury website.
The website can still be accessed via the www.canterburywater.org.nz link as well as through the ?Get Involved? tab on the Environment Canterbury website.
