Regional Committee discussion items

The Regional Committee will meet at the Lincoln Event Centre for its eighth public meeting on Tuesday July 12 (3-9pm).
The key items for discussion follow on from the committee's previous meeting on June 21 and include:
  • The Selwyn-Waihora and Ashburton zone draft priority outcomes based on the CWMS targets  will be presented. There will also be a discussion of how the priority outcomes might be achieved.
  • TrustPower's Lake Coleridge proposal. The Regional Committee is working on a position and recommendations on this proposal, taking into account how it would affect the CWMS targets.
  • The Regional Committee is looking at the regionally significant values of the targets in the Hurunui-Waiau zone. It intends to provide input to the Hurunui-Waiau Regional Plan ahead of the lifting of the moratoria on the Hurunui and Waiau rivers on October 1 this year.
  • Land use and water quality: a presentation and discussion as part of the development of the Regional Implementation Programme.
